Founded in 1958 as a nonprofit, community-based blood center, Community Blood Center (CBC) provides lifesaving blood and blood products to over 70 hospitals in the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area, eastern Kansas, and western Missouri. CBC serves as a vital community lifeline dedicated to helping patients and advancing global public health.
CBC is proud to be part of New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe), an organization that spans over 17 states and delivers one million blood products to more than 400 U.S. hospitals every year. NYBCe additionally delivers cellular therapies, specialty pharmacy, and medical services to 200+ research, academic, and biopharmaceutical organizations. NYBCe’s Lindsley F. Kimball Research Institute is a leader in hematology and transfusion medicine research, dedicated to the study, prevention, treatment, and cure of blood borne and blood-related diseases.
