Experience in Blood Banking

In response to growing concerns of COVID-19, the Community Blood Center has made the decision to postpone our Experience in Blood Banking: Advanced Course, which was scheduled for April 1st.  At this time we have not selected a future date; however, as soon as we do we will be in touch to confirm your registration.

Please know that the continuing education opportunities that CBC is able to provide for our customers remain a priority, and we will work diligently in rescheduling. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out us at EBB@cbckc.org.

Every year, Community Blood Center is proud to offer educational courses for blood bankers, residents and fellows, and clinical laboratory science students. Experience in Blood Banking courses are lecture-based courses and attendees receive PACE continuing education credits. These courses are free for all Community Blood Center customers, but registration is required.

Experience in Blood Banking: 101

These courses cover basic blood banking topics and are intended for generalist technologists wanting a blood bank refresher, MLS students, and anyone else in the transfusion community who can benefit from an introductory course.

Experience in Blood Banking: Advanced

This course features new lectures annually, includes hot topics in blood banking and transfusion medicine and is designed for experienced technologists and blood bank supervisors/managers.

Attendance in 2019 was the highest ever, with over 115 technologists, students and clinicians from local and regional hospitals attending. Due to the high demand we have expanded our program to provide two 101 sessions.
